Guangzhou Translators Association (GTA) and Guangzhou Science and Technology Translators Association
(GSTTA) are collective members of the Translators Association of China, being the initiator of the national
translation enterprises network and belonging to the first batch of nationally accredited translation service units.
They are affiliated to Guangzhou Association for Science and Technology.
Guangzhou Translators Association was set up on March 13, 1982 with official approval, thus becoming the
first translation association since the founding of the People’s Republic of China. GTA has 1,800 members,
representing the elites of the translation and interpretation community in Guangdong Province with some
translation specialists and experts from other parts of China and overseas. Many of them are senior professors,
scholars, renowned publishing personnel, as well as young people with master’s and doctorate degrees awarded
in the country and abroadthat are very competent in oral and written translation. Our members are distributed in
various domestic and overseas colleges and universities, government organs, industrial enterprises and research
institutes. GTA is a large trans-sector social organization with high academic levels and a powerful capacity in
translation and interpretation.
